You can't do without hydrangea blue fertilizer

Garland hydrangeas are hardy down to –30°C and can therefore overwinter outdoors without any problems. Make sure you use frost-resistant containers and place them on feet so that water can drain away easily at all times. As garland hydrangeas sprout very early in spring, you should cover the plants with fleece in the event of late frosts to prevent damage to the buds and flowers.
Garland hydrangeas should never be pruned. After the first flowering, long shoots form from the base, which produce no flowers in the first year or only at the tips. These should definitely be left alone, as they will form the garlands of the following year. The shoots generally do not grow longer than 1.5 m. Once they have reached this length, they stop growing. If your plant becomes too large, you should prune it in July, before the first of August, so that the flower buds for the following year can still form. Garland hydrangeas should not be pruned in winter or spring.
You should “pluck” wilted flowers or cut off dried flowers.

The most important prerequisite for healthy growth and abundant flowering is the right substrate. Since the pure white of Runaway Bride® and the bright blue of French Bolero® are determined by the soil conditions, they require a different substrate than the pink French Bolero®.
White and blue hydrangeas
For the white-flowering Runaway Bride® and the blue-flowering French Bolero®, it is best to use special soil for blue-flowering hydrangeas.
Pink hydrangeas
For pink-flowering French Bolero®, it is best to use special hydrangea soil that is suitable for pink-flowering varieties.
White and blue hydrangeas
To maintain the bright white and vibrant blue colors, hydrangea blue fertilizer should be added every other time you water the plants in spring and from late summer to fall. If the blue French Bolero® does not receive this special fertilizer, its flowers will gradually turn pink.
Pink hydrangeas
The pink French Bolero® is fed with conventional liquid or solid compound fertilizer.

Before the garland hydrangeas go into hibernation, they show off once again with their wonderfully bright autumn colors.

In this video, we show the growth of Runaway Bride® – French Bolero® behaves identically. The garland-like growth habit develops in the second year.
